TOKYO, May 26 (AP) - (Kyodo) — Japan and the United States will finalize the details of how to relocate the U.S. Marine Corps' Futenma Air Station in Okinawa Prefecture by early September, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirofumi Hirano said Wednesday.
Hirano, speaking at a news conference, said the two countries will flesh out the specifics such as construction methods to be used at a relocation site by around "late August or early September."
The time frame mentioned by Hirano is expected to be included in a joint statement to be released by Japan and the United States later this week.
