Prosecutors found that Ozawa's funds management body, Rikuzankai, failed to report money used to buy residential land in Tokyo in 2004 in its accounting records.
The plot had been purchased for about 4 million dollars.
In January, prosecutors searched Rikuzankai's office and related locations.

Prosecutors questioned Ozawa twice on a voluntary basis over the misreported funds, as he had provided the money in question and was briefed on the accounting.
On both occasions, Ozawa denied his involvement in falsifying reports, and said he trusted his aides with the accounting and was not aware of the details.
The aides also reportedly denied Ozawa's involvement in the alleged misreporting.
In February, prosecutors indicted the 3 aides over the funding violations, but decided not to indict Ozawa, citing a lack of evidence.
