Hirano says Ozawa should make own decision

Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirofumi Hirano says it's up to Ozawa to decide on his own political future.

Hirano said on Tuesday that polls show that the public remains unconvinced by Ozawa's explanation, and that politicians should be held accountable for their acts.

Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama declined to comment on the inquest panel's decision, citing his position as head of the government.

But he added that his party may make a judgment on the matter.
