Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama will leave Japan for the United States on Monday to attend the Nuclear Security Summit that opens that day in Washington.
The 2-day summit was proposed by US President Barack Obama, who says nuclear terrorism now poses a more serious threat than nuclear wars among nations.

One proposal will be for the Japan Atomic Energy Agency to offer training in Japanese technologies to personnel from Asian countries who work with nuclear materials.
Another proposal will be for Japan to make an additional donation of about 600 million dollars to the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Hatoyama will hold talks with Obama on Monday on the sidelines of the summit. Hatoyama will explain what the Japanese government is doing over the relocation of the US Marine Corps Futenma Air Station in Okinawa.
He's expected to make every effort to get understanding from Obama regarding the government's aim to relocate the facilities outside Okinawa Prefecture as much as possible.
