Tokyo, Aug. 21 (Jiji Press) -- Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan and U.S. President Barack Obama may hold a summit meeting in New York late next month, a Japanese government source said Saturday.
The two leaders may meet on the sidelines of a U.N. General Assembly session, the source said.
Kan and Obama are likely to focus on how to deepen the Japan-U.S. alliance and how to proceed with the relocation of a key U.S. Marine base in Japan.
Kan and Obama last met in late June on the sidelines of the summit of the Group of 20 major economies in Toronto, Canada.
