Japan's Prime Minister Naoto Kan has left Canada for Japan after the end of the Group of 20 summit in Toronto.
The 2-day summit closed on Sunday with a wrap-up news conference by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
The G20 leaders confirmed the importance of rebuilding state finances and sustaining economic growth through stimulus measures.
Kan explained his policy to achieve economic growth and fiscal reconstruction at the same time.
Earlier at the Group of 8 summit, Kan said the global community should take a tough stance against North Korea's alleged sinking of a South Korean warship in March.
The G8 leaders later released a joint statement condemning North Korea and expressing support for the South.
On the sidelines of the 2 summits, Kan held separate talks with US President Barack Obama and Chinese President Hu Jintao.
